The MORU project is located within the facilities of the Mahidol

made available for the fit out of bio safety class 2 & 3 laboratories
plus general office facilities
The objective was to build the first such laboratories in Thailand
certified to international standard as required by the US National
Institute for Health (NIH) and Center for Disease Control and
Prevention(CDC). This project required the involvement of many
contractors, consultants and specialists, thus extensive coordination,
a transparent cost planning & control, rigorous supervision &
validation was required to successfully realize this high standard project
Despite the restrictions of using an existing building envelope,
the new spaces have been well organized with regards to operational
requirements and flexibility to accommodate mission expansion and
the availability of new technologies. The finishes demonstrate careful
workmanship and the BSL 3 suite, designed to be under negative pressure
meets and exceeds the international W.H.O, NIC and CDC standards and guidelines
